Community Food Systems

Building resiliency, health, and economic vitality for Kansas communities – from food production on farms to food on every plate.

Community Food Systems

Collaborative local food systems include produce, process, distribute, access, consume, and recover.

Working towards a sustainable local food system future that preserves, protects and enhances environmental, economic, and social assets with research-based information, education and expertise.

The food system is everything that is part of ensuring that people have the food they need to survive and thrive - from production through processing, distribution, consumption, and food waste management - if it involves food in some way, it is part of the food system.
